A Warm Welcome

Hello! My name is Rehann, and I am a daughter, sister, writer, editor, pet lover, and self-proclaimed book addict. I graduated from York College of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a degree in Professional Writing, and graduated from the Professional Writing program at Chatham University in 2021. As you will see when you explore my website further, my time as both an undergrad and grad student taught me to write both professionally and creatively, and I've learned a lot about what good writing looks like and how to create better writing myself.

The learning has, of course, continued outside of school. I've been at BPMI, my current employer, since 2017. Throughout my time there, I've become more adept at dealing with internal customers, I've improved my project management skills to juggle multiple projects at the same time, and I've developed an understanding of usability in document and web design.

I wonder what the next six years will hold?

My Philosophy

I think the most important thing to me when it comes to a piece of writing—whether I'm the one doing the writing or the one doing the reading—is the voice. Whether writing an academic paper or a short story, the voice has to be right; it can really make or break a piece. It's the voice that gives the reader the information, the voice that carries the reader along. If the voice isn't true, or if the voice isn't right, then the reader isn't going to believe.

Another part of my philosophy is probably "don't stop." It's a rare person who starts out writing a brilliant piece. Writing's not easy—it takes practice. You have to write a lot in order to become good, and write a lot more than that to become great. Also, you shouldn't stop writing just because others think it's a waste of time. They could be right, of course. But what if they're wrong? If writing is something that's enjoyed, then it shouldn't be thrown away.
